10 best standard WordPress plugins 2017/2018

  1. WordPress SEO by Yoast This is a must install-plugin. Available free and premium. (makes content findable, SEO advice within WordPress)
  2. Akismet (standard in WordPress, is against spam)
  3. Jetpack by WordPress.com (optimization)
  4. Wordfence Security (security)
  5. Contact form 7, in combination with the Google service: recaptcha (sign up). Also read about alternative forms plug-ins such as Ninja forms and Fast Secure Contact Form.
  6. Really Simple CAPTCHA (with contact form, against spam responses)
  7. WP Super Cache (for fast loading times of your website) and Cloudflare (free plan).
  8. Google XML Sitemaps (evict if SEO by Yoast plugin already does this for you)
  9. Social Warfare for floating social media buttons that are not disruptive, so your website visitors can easily share your WordPress messages on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter etc. So social media part buttons plugin. Tip: turn off the Facebook share button if you do not need it, because it saves WordPress load time if contact request with Facebook is not necessary).
  10. Yet Another Related Posts Plugin (internal linking between posts goes automatically, gives more site visit), do you also want thumbnails for the titles? Then use the Yuzo related post plugin.
